The People of Abantey

The Creators of Abantey have each made people in their own image who follow the Ways of each creator. There are seven races, but only five, the Baluuds, Feeshans, Plajets, Sakeet and Wa'la are commonly known on Abantey. The other two, the Ta'as and Gnihton have been punished by the Creators and are banned from exploring most of Abantey.

Baluuds

Baluuds are a small, peaceful race. They stand about five feet tall and have two opposing thumbs on either side of their hands.

Baluuds are Zen-like and in tune with nature. Os'Baluud teaches her children to have respect for all living things, especially the forest that Baluuds live in and the animals they share it with. Baluuds produce some of the finest herbs and medicines found on Abantey. They are pacifists and will seek to resolve problems without resorting to violence or conflict.

The exception to this are the Baluud hunters. They are a special class of Baluud who are charged with protecting the forests and other Baluuds. They are extremely wild and dangerous, and are regarded with a mixture of awe and fear by the other Baluuds.

Rogue Baluuds possess the same wisdom and intelligence as Marked Baluuds, but, for the most part, have shunned the tenets of non-violence and living in harmony with nature. Many Rogue Baluuds will not hesitate to use weapons or offensive magic to defend themselves, or even to attack others.

Feeshans

Feeshans are a race of cat-like people. They stand about five and a half feet tall and are covered in soft, fine fur. They have cat-like ears and a long, prehensile tail. Feeshans are strong, quick and agile, but are most commonly known on Abantey for their charm and friendliness.

All Feeshans, particularly Marked ones, are known as creatures of comfort and pleasure. They are fond of long naps in the sunshine, extravagant parties, music and scented oils and perfumes. Despite their playful, lazy appearance, they are excellent fighters and are extremely dangerous if angered. Os'Feesha requires her followers to constantly seek out new things to experience, such as massages, good food, music and the arts.

Rogue Feeshans retain many of the characteristics of Marked Feeshans. They are lazy and playful, but quick to anger. They are curious and charming like their marked cousins, but reject the demands the Os'Feesha places on her Marked followers. Rogue Feeshans are excellent negotiators and messengers and can be found almost anywhere representing the Rogue guilds.

Plajets

Plajets are similar in size and description to normal humans, except that they are extremely quick and agile. For better or worse, they are the best thieves to be found on Abantey. Plajets are known everywhere as jokers and tricksters. The followers of Os'Plajet are constantly playing practical jokes on each other and everyone around them, much to others' chagrin. Os'Plajet requires life to be a constant joy, and if you are not funny enough, Os'Plajet will make you funny. Of course that may not exactly be what you had in mind.

Rogue Plajets are found throughout Abantey as traders and merchants. It is the trading guilds run by Rogue Plajets that keep most of the Rogue economy going. They are the only ones who know the secret routes into the land of Gnihton, sealed off from the rest of Abantey by the Creators.

Sakeets

Sakeets are a race of huge lizard people. They stand over seven feet tall and are covered head to toe with thick, armored scales. They have a massive tail that is a dangerous weapon.

Sakeets have a strict, warlike culture that is based around personal honor. It is a matriarchal society organized into clans. There is constant warfare among the clans to determine the social order of the land of Sakeet.

Os'Sakeet requires his followers to adhere to a strict code of honor that is similar to the ancient code of the Samurai. A good Sakeet will always seek out honorable combat and fight fairly. They shun armor and most ranged weapons, preferring their combats to be fought with swords or in fierce hand-to-hand battles.

Rogue Sakeets make some of the best guards and warriors of the Rogue culture. Like their Marked peers, they are sturdy, powerful warriors. Many Rogue Sakeets use armor and are trained in a variety of weapons.

Rogue Sakeets are considered one of the greatest dishonors by Marked Sakeets, and must travel with great caution in the presence of Marked Sakeet, as the Marked Sakeet warriors will not hesitate to attack these Rogues.

Wa'la

Wa'la are tall, thin, bald, dark skinned people with high constitution, strength, dexterity and low charisma.

They arc good fighters. The Marked Wa'la live in a harsh Land of volcanoes and Draajen (huge flying lizard-like things with a culture of their own. Interestingly, they too follow the Ways of Os'Wa'la). The Wa'la are said to have a very poor sense of humor. They are very cautious and difficult to anger. However, if they are angered, they become dangerous. They exist only at the whim of Os'Wa'la. Os'Wa'la requires them to constantly face and conquer hardship and challenges ... mostly the many extremely hungry Draajen that live in the Land.
