Official Seiji Back? Hey parents, here’s your chance to bring Abantey to your area. As some of you may know that Piedmont Middle School and Archway Middle School both sponsor the Roleplay Workshop at their school. If you would like to bring the Roleplay Workshop to your school, we need your help. Our experience has been that schools, for the most part, ignore the hundreds of solicitations for special programs that they receive every year. We need you, the parents, to spread the word about our program and act as an interface between us and your school. If you would like to help bring the Roleplay Workshop to your area, contact Becky at (510)654 3582 or email her at becky@roleplay-workshop.com Last day
for school year programs: No sessions on Monday, 5/30 ********************** Parents, if you haven’t signed your student up for the Summer Program, the time to do so is RIGHT NOW! The Summer Program is filling up about one month ahead of last year's pace. Please, PLEASE CALL to confirm that space is available in the desired week BEFORE sending in your form. The time it takes for us to receive your form, in the mail, could cost you a space in the week(s) you are interested in. Remember, while you may reserve a space by phone, the space is not confirmed until we receive your registration form and nonrefundable deposit. We are taking a Wait List for each week and there is a small possibility that we will be able to get extra space and extra staff for some weeks. For an up-to-date calendar with available spaces please click this link: Check to see how many spaces are left! REMEMBER: Click “reload,” in your web browser, to make sure you are getting the most recent version of the calendar. Call Becky

Dr Comics Becky Thomas Once they returned to the ARA headquarters, the party was healed and debriefed. Although they were exhausted, the ARA had yet another mission for them! Information that Toksuri gained during her questioning of Sergeant Sorge is crucial to the current crisis - the evacuation of Tabur and the events happening there and around the world. It is vital that Toksuri's information be spread as quickly as possible. The problem - with the prohibition against teleporting and the failure of the Librarian's Guild communication network, the information would need to be taken over land. Additionally, the ARA strongly suspects that forces will move to prevent Toksuri and her information from reaching the next major town. So! The party quickly made plans for a speedy and secretive mission up the river to Repast. They broke into small groups, disguised themselves, and booked passage on a river boat. Their plan is to use the river boat for most of their transport and travel the last one hundred miles on foot and horseback. Will they make it to Repast safely? Or will the forces arrayed against them stop their crucial mission? Tuesdays Greg Dachner Dominic DiGiovanni
& Steve Kani There, they did not find Lady Catherine, but they did find a raft of stolen goods and a large rowboat. Using the rowboat to tow the raft, they followed the sewer out to the open ocean. They paddled their way out to a small island, just offshore, where they landed on a tiny beach. The adventurers found themselves walking into a large cave that led into a long tunnel. Suddenly, they were attacked by two giant trapdoor spiders. An intense melee ensued and a few of the adventurers were seriously injured. The marked Plajet Priesten had to call on Os Plajet to assist in healing his fellow party members. As everyone rested they contemplated what lay ahead at the end of the tunnel. Piedmont Middle
School Special Education Class This month, we began a new mission with our Tuesday Piedmont group. We were able to quickly make our new characters and got started right away. The new mission finds our group in the town of Kiki, immediately after the refugees from Tabur begin flooding the town. The characters received a message asking them to follow the Messenger to a secret job interview. They chose to follow the Messenger, stopping to gather their equipment from their apartments. The Messenger lead them to the back entrance of a luxurious estate in the rich section of town. There, they were introduced to a powerful Feeshan man, who is a member of the Pasha Jurat. His son, Sumukhar, a Baluud/Feehsan storyteller & cavalry, has gotten into a serious heap of trouble. Sumukhar is a bit of a gambler and somehow managed to win a huge amount of money from a hot headed and powerful woman. The woman is seeking revenge... Sumukhar's father pays them to get Sumukhar out of town as quickly and quietly as possible, and to safely escort him up the road to his aunt and uncle in Repast. Will they be able to evade the watchers and get Sumukhar to his aunt and uncle's? Wednesdays Archway Group

School Special Education Class With their new characters, the players began their investigation of the disappearance of Luc Bouchard's wife, Valeria Balint. Valeria had sent a party to find her husband in Kiki, as she needed his signature to be able to sell some horses and property to pay off her gambling debts. Just 2 days before Luc's return, she was visited by 2 mysterious and threatening people while she was working out a war horse in the corral. While none of the house or stable staff saw the incident, one of the party members, a marked Baluud, had been sleeping in a tree in the forest bordering the corral. He was able to identify them as a Plajet and a Feeshan, both men, both carrying weapons. The party also investigated Valeria's bedroom, which was a mess! According to the house staff, much of the mess was normal, which made things much more difficult. The party was able to discover broken patio doors leading to a balcony, traces of blood on the floor, balcony and the outside stairs leading to the ground floor; an empty secret compartment behind a drawer; an empty safe; that Valeria's favorite war horse was missing and signs that someone had jumped a fence on horseback, leaving the property and heading into the forest. What will they find next? Friday Becky Thomas After that small confusion was cleared up, the party continued into Tabur to find Dr. Fog's assistants. They were relieved that Gulo had rejoined them, as her strange sensory abilities allowed them to quickly find Dr. Fog's assistants while avoiding the hundreds of monsters filling the streets and alleyways of Tabur. The party's search lead them to an abandoned warehouse that was being engulfed by a vividly colored giant slug. They managed to drive the slug away from the door and raced inside. There, they discovered Dr. Fog's assistants, one grievously wounded and on coma, the other so wounded and fatigued that once he realized they were there to help, he collapsed. The party was feeling the effects of the strange, infested waters they had waded through to get into Tabur, and so paused to use a device invented by Dr. Fog to purge themselves of the illness. They also checked over Dr. Fog's assistants to make sure they were ok. Unfortunately, the woman was infected with a virulent eel-like thing that managed to nearly kill one of the party, Oak, before they killed it. Finally, battered, exhausted and grieving, they steeled themselves for the journey back through the sewers. Knowing that they would meet yet more horrors, and possibly their deaths... Will they make it back to Dr. Fog's and then out of the quarantine zone before it's too late? Greg Dachner Michael Piper
and Scott Lambert The party eventually gains control of the situation, rounding up the bandits and recovering stolen goods from their base. From there, they go to a nearby guard station and report the incidents to the local sheriff. At hearing of their deeds, and for returning the stolen goods, the sheriff rewards them each with a finely made platinum ring. After resting at the inn for a night, they continue on their journey towards the Shrine. What other dangers lay on the road ahead? Saturday
(1st & 3rd) Becky Thomas Believing that the appearance of the man and woman were tied to the lassitude, the party sought out the shepard who found them. He told a strange tale of thunder and lightning on a clear day and of finding a horrible scar of burned grass in a hillside. At the center of the destruction, the party found a crater surrounded by debris, bits and pieces of packs and weapons and things that they did not recognize. When Anna, one of the magic users, climbed down into the crater to see what was there, she suddenly slid to the bottom and vanished into a hole in a shower of obsidian fragments! The other party members, realizing that they were at the ebb of the lassitude, risked their lives and used magic to pull Anna and a strange obsidian sphere from the bottom of the crater. What will they find next? Michael Piper
and Steve Kani They formulated a plan to get in. The group would sneak in, the Sakeet would bring up the rear as he was the least stealthy of the bunch. They would then move through the compound knocking out or subduing the guards, the Baluud Mage and Melphis’ brother. Once the estate was secured, they would tackle the main tower. Everything was going quite well until the party tried to subdue Melphis’ brother Nera. It turns out he was a light sleeper and a melee ensued. Eventually, Nera was knocked out but a couple of the characters were injured in the process. Suddenly there were loud screeching noises and the loud scratching of insect legs descending the long stairway inside the tower... what will happen next! Saturday At Dr
Comics Assistant Tables Once they were back on their way, the artist confessed that he had had
an accident in Amethyst almost two years ago, and now had visions into
Amethyst when he slept. These bizarre visions inspired him to paint what
he saw. He showed them the painting that the Wa'la had wanted: a tall,
thin Wa'la-looking creature that had been disfigured by some sort of
transformation that was obviously related to Amethyst. They kept constant
vigilance for the remainder of the journey, but the Wa'la did not appear
again. Once at Reskere, they set up the
art show and then agreed to hire on as guards for the duration of
the show. During the very first night, they spotted a monstrous creature
(possibly the Wa'la?) trying to prey on the Feeshan town. With some
careful
thinking and a little luck, they defeated the creature. They were
rewarded by the artist and by the senior members of the Feeshan town
for their
effort.
